$100 to help neighbor who lost job a week before kidney transplant

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Judy Monaco of Glendale Heights.

Here is an excerpt of her story:

“I would like to give $100 to our neighbor and his family. Jason Chambers is 38 years old and the father of two sets of young twins. He has polycystic kidney disease, which required that he have a kidney transplant.

“In August, he had a kidney transplant; his new kidney was donated by his wife, Marie. One week before his surgery his position at work was eliminated. Because of the cost of surgery and lack of insurance, I believe the $100 would assist them with all their medical bills.”

• The Believe Project is awarding $100 each day in December to a different person with a good idea for how to use the money to do a good deed for someone else. Submit your idea in 150 words or fewer at events.dailyherald.com/believe-project.
