$100 to lift spirits of friend who suffered stroke

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Julie Schwartz of Buffalo Grove.

Here is an excerpt of her story:

"My friend could really use a Believe envelope. She took care of her mom for 20 years. As my friend was turning 50, her mom passed away. She was about to change her life and do everything she couldn't as she took care of her mom.

"A month after her mom died, my friend had a stroke and emergency brain surgery. Now she has trouble talking, can't work, has limited driving ability and is feeling very alone. I know this could really help not only financially, but help her spirits too. Maybe help her believe again."

• The Believe Project is awarding $100 each day in December to a different person with a good idea for how to use the money to do a good deed for someone else. Submit your idea in 150 words or fewer at events.dailyherald.com/believe-project.
