Local pastry chef to host bread demonstration at St. Charles library

Certified pastry chef and St. Charles resident Cherise Slattery will share her passion for bread making with a fun and inspiring class at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave.

Chef Cherise will demonstrate the 12 steps of yeast bread production and reveal tips and tricks to make bread baking a new favorite hobby. The demonstration will include French baguettes, walnut wheat bread and golden dinner rolls.

Chef Cherise is a certified pastry chef with degrees from Elgin Community College and Northern Illinois University. She sells her line of all natural pastries at local farmers markets in the western suburbs.

Additionally, she is a pastry chef instructor at Marcel's Culinary Experience in Glen Ellyn.
