'It's a Wonderful Life' at Lake Park

The holiday classic "It's a Wonderful Life" will come to life next week at the Lake Park High School East Campus in Roselle.

Directed by teacher Sara Keith, the show follows George Bailey, the everyman from the small town of Bedford Falls, whose guardian angel visits him on Christmas Eve to remind him - by showing him what the world would have been like had he never been born - that his has been, after all, a wonderful life.

The play, based on the movie, celebrates the faith of the season and the American philosophy of life: hard work, fair play and the love and support of one's family and community will be rewarded.

Show times are 7 p.m. Thursday and Saturday, Dec. 10 and 12; 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, in the school's Dice Auditorium, 600 S. Medinah Road. More than two dozen student actors, singers and musicians will perform.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for non-Lake Park students and free for senior citizens and children younger than 13. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
