West Dundee

• Luis Tavarez-Diaz, 20, of the 800 block of Canterfield Parkway, West Dundee, was charged Wednesday with driving without lights about 9:13 p.m. on South 8th Street, according to a news release from West Dundee police. Tavarez-Diaz also was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while his driver's license was suspended and driving without valid registration, police said. He was released after posting $200 bail and will appear in court on Dec. 17.

• Brandon Smith, 19, of the 500 block of Elm Ridge Road, Carpentersville, was charged Thursday with unlawful use of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a news release from West Dundee police. Smith is accused of being involved in an altercation in the center court of Spring Hill Mall at 8:21 p.m. Thursday, police said. His next court date is Jan. 7.

• Stephanie Emiliano, 38, of the 800 block of Village Quarter Road, West Dundee, was charged Sunday with retail theft, according to a news release from West Dundee police. Emiliano is accused of taking $50 worth of merchandise from Macy's in Spring Hill Mall, police said. She was released on a notice to appear in court on Jan. 7.

• Kevin Smith, 45, of the 400 block of Hill Street, East Dundee, was charged Sunday with criminal damage to property, according to a news release from West Dundee police. He was taken into custody after police received a call at 1:54 a.m. about a disturbance at Bikini Bottoms, 105 W. Main St., police said. Smith was released on a notice to appear in court on Jan. 7.
