Wauconda might name new chief Tuesday

Wauconda officials could name the town's next police chief Tuesday, Village Administrator Doug Maxeiner said. Trustees are scheduled to discuss candidates for the post during a closed-door meeting at the end of Tuesday's village board session. A vote is possible afterward, Maxeiner said. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at village hall, 101 N. Main St. Deputy Chief Thomas Bender has been serving as interim chief since Patrick Yost retired this past summer.
