Batavia welcomes the holidays with Celebration of Lights

Hundreds lined the streets of downtown Batavia on Sunday to help the community welcome the holiday season during the annual Celebration of Lights festival.

The celebration featured the lighting of the town's official holiday tree, along with a visit by Santa and a community singalong led by Craig Foltos of the Foltos Tonsorial Parlor.

Visitors also had a chance to stroll through Christmas Tree Lane and check out 25 holiday trees decorated by local organizations and businesses. Other highlights included a performance by the Batavia Community Band, roasted chestnuts for snacking, a holiday-themed craft market. and a story hour presented by staff from the Batavia Public Library.
