Applebee House in Barrington features 'An Olde Fashion Christmas'

The Applebee House at 212 W. Main St. in Barrington, which houses the Barrington History Museum offices on its second floor, is holding house tours showing off "An Olde Fashion Christmas" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on several Saturdays, including Nov. 28, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12.

The Victorian home built in 1889 is decorated for the holidays. The elaborate porch and conservatory were restored in 1988. The first floor has been restored as a complete turn-of-the-century living quarters museum.

The two-and one-half-story gable front folk dwelling with Italianate influence was built by the Gilbert Applebee family. Tours are $5. New, unique, antique and collectible holiday decorations and gift items are for sale. Information is at www.BarringtonHistoryMuseum.org.
