New, safer road to Starlight, a tourist spot, nearly done

STARLIGHT, Ind. (AP) - Southern Indiana crews have nearly finished work on a new road that officials say will make travel safer near the area's tourist destinations.

Clark County Commission President Jack Coffman says the new Star Hill Road that will link Starlight and Borden is on track to open to traffic Dec. 4.

Coffman tells the News and Tribune (http://bit.ly/1PZqWtZ ) that once the road opens it will make "access to Starlight a lot safer."

That Clark County community about 20 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky, is home to Huber's Orchard, Winery and Vineyards and other attractions in the scenic region's rolling hills near the Ohio River.

Commissioner Rick Stephenson says the road's completion will also open up northwestern Clark County for more businesses and development.
