Parade starts the holiday festivities in Wheaton

Wheaton ushered in the holiday season with a lighted parade and Christmas tree-lighting ceremony Friday night.

The parade stepped off at 6 p.m. near city hall and featured Santa Claus as well as bands and floats.

Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Santa will welcome visitors at his house in Martin Memorial Plaza. He'll be there from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday through Dec. 19.

Also on Saturday, you can take a horse-drawn carriage ride through downtown Wheaton. Rides are available between noon and 3 p.m. each Saturday through Dec. 19.
