Moseley helps No. 6 Maryland women rout Old Dominion 95-46

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands (AP) - Brene Moseley scored a career-high-tying 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting to help the No. 6 Maryland women rout Old Dominion 95-46 on Thursday in the opener of the Paradise Jam.

Shatori Walker-Kimbrough added 16 points and five assists for the Terrapins (4-0), who jumped all over the Monarchs, outscoring them 30-6 in the first quarter. Maryland scored the game's first nine points, including five by Walker-Kimbrough. Her 3-pointer with 13 seconds left in the period made it 30-6.

It didn't get much better for the Monarchs (1-4), who didn't crack double digits until 6:28 remained in the half. That basket came during a 10-3 run for Old Dominion that got them within 38-16. Then Moseley scored the final 10 points of the half for Maryland, which led 48-24 at the break.

Brianna Fraser and Tierney Pfirman combined for six straight free throws amid a 16-2 third-quarter run Maryland used to build on its lead. The Terrapins made 20 of 27 from the free-throw line and got 58 points from its bench compared with 13 for Old Dominon.

Brionna Jones added 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Maryland, which outrebounded the Monarchs 51-38.

Jennie Simms led Old Dominion with 23 points.

Old Dominion: The last time ODU went to the Paradise Jam was in 2011. The team defeated Alabama (77-76), but fell to LA Tech (71-84) and Seton Hall (49-60). Current team member, Aneesah Daniels, was on the Alabama team that the Lady Monarchs faced in St. Thomas four years ago.

Maryland: The Terrapins went 2-1 in their first trip to the Paradise Jam, back in 2005. They beat Gonzaga, 88-50, then topped No. 9 Michigan State, 75-61, before losing a close game to No. 2 Tennessee, 80-75.
