Feed My Starving Children holds Thanksgiving packing event in Schaumburg

Volunteers took time out from Thursday's celebration of bounty to gather at the Feed My Starving Children packing center in Schaumburg for a special Thanksgiving event: Packing meals for hungry people around the world.

The volunteers also donated $50 each - or $150 per household - to be part of the event. Each $50 covers the cost of one box of 216 MannaPack meals, which feeds a child for seven months. The volunteers worked on the project from 10:30 a.m. to noon at 1072 National Pkwy.
