'Making Spirits Bright' concert provides music, art scholarships

"Making Spirits Bright," a festive singalong concert hosted by the David Adler Music and Arts Center, will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.

"Making Spirits Bright" features the Adler Center's faculty and students. Students and faculty sing and perform a variety of songs from all around the world.

Proceeds will benefit the Student Scholarship Fund, which provides music and art scholarships to students demonstrating financial need.

"We're excited about 'Making Spirits Bright' because it brings the joy of the holiday season to the community," Executive Director Amy Williams said.

David Adler Music and Arts Center students will perform holiday classics, and the center's faculty will provide live accompaniment as the audience bands together to sing songs of good cheer. Art students will display their spirited creations and baked goods will be available to purchase. Children and adults of all ages are welcome.

Located in the historic home of architect David Adler, the David Adler Music and Arts Center is dedicated to making music and the arts an integral part of everyday life. Its year-round activities are designed to foster engagement and achievement in the arts for the people of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.
