Palin cancels Naperville book-signing appearance

Sarah Palin may be able to spot Russia from her house, but she won't be seeing Naperville anytime soon.

The former governor of Alaska and the first Republican woman to run for vice president has canceled a book-signing appearance originally scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Naperville Marriott Hotel.

The event was sponsored by Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville. “This cancellation is due to circumstances out of the control of Anderson's Bookshops,” the store said in a statement released Wednesday afternoon.

Palin was to sign copies of her book, “Sweet Freedom: A Devotional.” The book presents 260 meditations on biblical verses that offer strength and inspiration for doubts, anxieties and everyday stresses about family, community and country.
