Careful vetting of Syrian immigrants?

The news is filled with conversations about passports, their importance for travel and their use as an official identifying document. A few years ago, on one of our travels through Europe, we were at the Polish/Ukrainian border. We stopped at a European version of a garage sale.

At one Ukrainian table, there were blank passports from four different countries. Compared to our own, they looked very genuine.

Our president has promised careful vetting of the 10,000 to 100,000 Syrian immigrants that will be brought to our country. I think our president is bull-jiving us.
