FUSE program aimed at Glenbard parents

Parents and guardians of African-American students in Glenbard High School District 87 are invited to an important meeting of FUSE: Families United for Students' Excellence when Glenbard Directions program Principal Raquel Wilson and Glenbard East Dean of Students Gregory Baker present Resources, Skills and Strategies to Achieve.

The meeting and a holiday gathering will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Glenbard North High School, 990 N. Kuhn Road in Carol Stream.

FUSE is an opportunity for parents to become involved in their teens' education. The mission is to provide Glenbard families with the tools, resources and education to equip students for success.

The Dec. 9 program will provide information to empower parents as they learn about resources available for high school students.

Academic skills and strategies for students will be shared, along with techniques parents may use to encourage teens to excel in school and become lifelong learners. Free dinner will be provided.
