3 Hall of Famers on Collegiate Bowl coaching staffs

CARSON, Calif. (AP) - Pro Football Hall of Famers Darrell Green, Jackie Slater and Andre Reed will be on the coaching staffs for the NFL Players Association's Collegiate Bowl.

The game will be played on Jan. 23 at the StubHub Center. Mike Holmgren will be the head coach of the American Team, while the Nationals will be coached by Mike Martz.

Assisting Holmgren as cornerbacks coach will be Darrell Green, who entered the hall in 2008.

Helping Martz will be Slater, a 2001 inductee who will work with the offensive linemen, and Reed, who became a hall member last year and will handle the wide receivers.

The all-star game will also feature health and safety measures such as sideline neurologists.

Other recent NFL players who will be assistant coaches include Jon Kitna (quarterbacks), Steve Hutchinson (offensive line), Anthony Becht (tight ends), Priest Holmes (running backs) and Jeff Zgonina (defensive line).
