Fill sheriff's squad with toys in Deer Park

The Lake County Sheriff's Office and Deer Park Town Center are seeking contributions of unwrapped toys for the "Stuff a Squad" event to benefit needy children.

The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at Deer Park Town Center, 20530 N. Rand Road, in Deer Park. The squad car to be filled with toys will be adjacent to Noodles and Company on the mall's south end.

Lake County Sheriff's personnel will be there to greet visitors and collect toys to fill the patrol vehicle. Toys for Tots will pick up and distribute the donations.

The sheriff's office also is collecting toys on behalf of Toys for Tots through Dec. 21 at two locations: 25 S. Martin Luther King Jr Ave. in Waukegan, and 1301 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville.
