Elk Grove principal, dressed as turkey, jumps into pool

Elk Grove High School Principal Paul Kelly got into the Thanksgiving spirit Tuesday by donning a turkey costume and jumping off a diving board into the school's pool to thank students who signed up for Relay For Life.

Kelly agreed to the stunt if at least 300 students signed up to participate in the annual event, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

"This is one of the dumbest things I've done in public, but it's for a good cause, and so maybe it's not a dumb thing after all," Kelly said. "Maybe it's a smart thing if it results in positive outcomes for Relay For Life. And it will."
