Toasty Cheese food truck operator planning stationary eatery in Schaumburg

Toasty Cheese Mobile Eatery, which began operating its first food truck in the suburbs three years ago, will hold a grand opening for its first stationary location next Thursday, Dec. 3, in Schaumburg.

The carryout location at 951 W. Wise Road will feature the food trucks' signature grilled cheese sandwiches, including the Build Your Own option, hand-cut fries, a cheese plate, soup and dessert.

Toasty Cheese now operates two food trucks and a commissary that supports five food trucks owned by other mobile restaurateurs.

The new permanent location will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. A soft opening may occur earlier than the Dec. 3 grand opening.

The company's owners said the opportunity to open a carryout location will allow for additional catering, a permanent place for customers to enjoy Toasty Cheese without hunting down the food trucks, and a new preparation space for the other business owners renting space at the company's Black Star Kitchen and Commissary.

"It's very exciting to see people respond so positively to our food," founder Greg Barnhart said.
