Suzy Bogguss brings a 'Swingin' Little Christmas' to the ECC Arts Center Dec. 5

The ECC Arts Center will present Grammy-winning country music singer/songwriter Suzy Bogguss' "Swingin' Little Christmas" on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the ECC Arts Center. The performance will be held in the Blizzard Theatre, Building H on ECC's Spartan Drive campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. The performance will begin at 7 p.m.

Singer/songwriter Suzy Bogguss brings holiday cheer to the Arts Center with "Swingin' Little Christmas." The concert features a festive mix of traditional holiday favorites and originals like "Two-Step 'Round the Christmas Tree," plus songs from "Lucky," Bogguss' recent acoustic album of Merle Haggard songs.

With the release of her 1989 major label debut, "Somewhere Between," Bogguss quickly became one of the key artists that defined those golden days of '90s country music. She scored a string of Top 10 singles with country radio staples like "Outbound Plane," "Drive South," "Hey Cinderella," "Letting Go" and "Aces," and her 1991 album of that name was certified platinum.

Bogguss, a native of Aledo, Ill., is a regular visitor to Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion" and the Grand Ole Opry, and was named a must see of the 2015 SXSW Festival. She is the recipient of a Grammy Award, as well as several awards from the Academy of Country Music, The Country Music Association, and CMT. The legendary Chet Atkins once said Bogguss' "voice sparkles like crystal water."
