Palatine Jaycees host 56th annual Christmas Tree Sale

The Palatine Jaycees are hosting their 56th annual Christmas Tree Sale beginning Friday to raise funds to help individuals and civic groups throughout the Palatine area.

The sale will run through Sunday, Dec. 20, in the Palatine Park District Family Aquatic Center parking lot, 340 E. Palatine Road. The sale is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, then from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on ensuing Fridays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

"This is my favorite season and being able to chair this project is a special treat this year," said Rob Doty, the project's co-chairman. "We will be offering a variety of fresh-cut, long and short needle trees, wreaths and garland at special pricing. Shoppers can choose from our selection of Scotch pine, Blue Spruce, Balsam Fir, Douglas fir and Fraser Fir in a variety of sizes at competitive prices."

As an added feature to the sale, the Jaycees will be sponsoring a Santa's Mailbox. Children will be able to mail a letter to Santa from a mailbox on the Christmas tree lot. Santa will respond to any letter dropped in the box before Dec. 13. Please include a return address on your envelope.
