Support Elderday Center in Giving Tuesday Dec. 1

Elderday Center in Batavia is once again joining the nation by participating in Giving Tuesday on Dec. 1.

Giving Tuesday is a national movement on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to generously give back to those communities that serve us on a daily basis. Elderday Center's mission is to provide therapeutic day programming for older adults to ensure safety during the day, provide respite for caregivers, slow the progression of cognitive decline, maintain health, and decrease depression and anxiety.

Giving Tuesday donations will provide an immediate positive impact on local seniors who attend the Elderday program, equating to added independence, more time with loved ones, and more treasured memories.

To give to Elderday Center on Giving Tuesday, visit www.elderdaycenter.org and click on the "GIFT" link. Additionally, The Retirement Research Foundation will generously match all donations to Elderday Center made on Giving Tuesday up to $5,000 so your donation can go twice as far. Together, they can have a profound impact upon improving the lives of older adults in need of vital therapies, support for caregivers, and provide thousands of hours of care.

Let's show our senior citizens we care and support them by making a gift on Giving Tuesday!

Celebrating 25 years this year, Elderday Center specializes in dementia and age related illness care. The program is unique because the specialized day program promotes cognitive stimulation and socialization which can help slow the progression of dementia, minimize depression, and increase the overall quality of life. As the only community-based, nonprofit adult day program in the Tri-Cities, Elderday Center uses evidenced based techniques to engage senior citizens affected with these diagnoses.

The Elderday Center program offers a wide variety of services and activities in which clients can participate: daily exercise, intergenerational activities, games, crafts, special entertainment, lively discussions of current events, music and pet therapy, a hot lunch and two nutritious snacks, daily nurse monitoring, professional case management, and much, much more. Elderday Center staff is committed to providing the highest quality of care for each and every senior in the program. The intention is to make a direct and meaningful impact on the quality of life for both clients and their caregivers every day.
