Warm up with Chilly Chili 5K

The Schaumburg Park District's annual Chilly Chili 5K will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Schaumburg Golf Club, 401 N. Roselle Road. The race is USA Track & Field certified and will take runners through the scenery of the golf course. Participants are invited to enjoy a chili lunch after the race, where those 21 and older will receive one free beer.

The Chilly Chili is for ages 10 and older and includes multiple age divisions. Awards are given to the top three finishers in each division. The 5K is a Schaumburg CAN (Children - Activity - Nutrition) event.

"People love running in this race," said Alyssa Danca, fitness supervisor. "It's a fun route. Warming up with chili when you're finished makes the event even more enjoyable."

Preregistration is available at www.active.com. Preregistration fee is $30 and due by 5 p.m. Dec. 1.

Race-day registration fee is $35. Check-in, packet pickup and race-day registration will be available from 8-9:30 a.m. Dec. 5. All participants will receive a long-sleeve tech shirt.

The Chilly Chili 5K is sponsored by Amita Health and Dick Pond Athletics. For information, call (847) 490-7015 or visit www.parkfun.com.
