Ela Township dinner dance to aid local charities

Ela Township's elected officials and Ela Township 55+ will host the annual Happy Holidays Dinner Dance from 4:30-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at Fr. Valker Hall, downstairs at St. Francis de Sales Church, 135 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.

With more than 300 guests expected to attend, this special event is open only to Ela Township residents who are 55 and older. Registration is required and will close Dec. 4.

Registration must be done in-person at the Ela Township Community Center, 380 Surryse Road, Lake Zurich, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Admission is a minimum donation of $5 per person, which can be paid at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Emmaus House Community Dinner and St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, both of which serve local families and seniors.

The festivities will include refreshments served at 5 p.m., with dancing accompanied by Jason Gold's Mini Big Band. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. following a holiday blessing. There will also be raffles and gift baskets.

Ela Township buses will be available at no charge for those who need a ride. Call Ela Township Dial-A-Ride at (847) 438-6677.

Ela Township serves more than 40,000 residents and covers 36 square miles. Within its borders are all or part of the villages of Barrington, Deer Park, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Lake Zurich, Long Grove, North Barrington and portions of unincorporated Palatine and Mundelein.
