Season outlook: Harvest Christian first-year coach Lafeyette Bell said he plans to shift the focus from offense to defense in order to compete with Northeastern Athletic Conference contenders Westminster Christian, Luther North and Rockford Christian Life. The Lions scored 51.9 points per game last season and allowed 54.1. Harvest Christian is led by 6-5 forward Brett Cramer, who last year led the team with 9.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Junior guard Riley Steiner should be able to increase his 8.1 points-per-game average. Last season he drilled 40 of 112 attempts from 3-point range (35.7 percent). Sophomores Dylan Lockwood and Zach Floyd are multisport athletes able to contribute in multiple ways. Freshman center Jack Nahava will be in the rotation. The new coach said he likes the fact his players are young and coachable. "Our biggest strength will be that we are young and these young players will not know anything different from what I'm teaching them," said Bell, who added this "will be a fast-paced, quick decision making team."
