Indianapolis police arrest man after deadly shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Police in Indianapolis have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that left one man dead and another injured.

Police filed preliminary charges, including attempted murder, against 29-year-old Charles Archey after taking him into custody Thursday. Archey is also charged with possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

Officers dispatched to a reported shooting Thursday afternoon found 20-year-old Chavieon Gray with a gunshot wound to the face. He was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in serious, but stable condition.

Nearby, inside a red pick-up truck, officers found 23-year-old Terrence Parham with gunshot wounds. Medical personnel at the scene pronounced Parham dead.

Marion County prosecutors are expected to determine the final charges.
