Demolition clears way for assisted living complex in Prospect Heights

Demolition has begun on three vacant houses in preparation for the construction of a $30 million, 101-unit assisted living project in Prospect Heights, according to the city newsletter. The three-story, 69-unit building for assisted living and a one-story, 32-unit building that will specialize in memory care are being constructed by developer Greenbrier Senior Living on Elmhurst Road just south of Palatine Road. The demolition is the first phase of the project and will be completed in a few days. Prospect Heights Mayor Nick Helmer said the city is pleased with progress on the project, which will serve the area's growing senior population.
