Jolly St. Nick concert set for Dec. 4

The spirit of the holiday season comes to Elmhurst in early December when Santa makes an appearance at the second annual Jolly Old St. Nicholas Concert.

The Elmhurst Historical Museum presents an encore of last year's popular event, which was met with enthusiasm by pajama-clad youngsters and holiday elves of all ages. This year's event will be from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at Yorkfield Presbyterian Church, 1099 S. York St., Elmhurst.

The holiday performance will be led by Jolly Old St. Nicholas, as imagined by first-person history presenter Terry Lynch, who will share the legendary story that made him renowned around the world.

St. Nick will be accompanied by the jingling bells and voices of the Damenchor, a women's chorus that has been singing traditional German carols and songs in the area for more than 79 years. Goodie bags to fill the shoes of little ones will be shared.

Admission is free. Children are encouraged to wear pajamas, and photo opportunities with St. Nick will be available after the performance. In addition, a hot cocoa bar will be provided after the show.
