Sprague, Ouellette lead Ohio past Ball State 48-31

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) - JD Sprague had 321 total yards and three touchdowns, A.J. Ouellette ran for a season-high 121 yards and two scores, and Ohio beat Ball State 48-31 on Tuesday night.

Sprague connected with Jordan Reid on two second-quarter touchdowns, of 7 and 60 yards, to give Ohio a 28-3 lead. Ball State scored on back-to-back possessions in the second half to get to 38-24, but Ohio had an answer each time - scoring on four straight drives.

Reid made four catches for 112 yards and two scores for Ohio (7-4, 4-3 Mid-American). Sprague was 15-of-22 passing for 275 yards and had 11 carries for 46 yards.

Ohio had 607 yards overall.

Riley Neal passed for 247 yards with two touchdowns and ran for 62 yards and a score for Ball State (3-8, 2-5). KeVonn Mabon caught 10 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown and Jordan Williams added 78 yards and a score.
