Carpentersville man in critical condition after rollover crash

A Carpentersville man was in critical condition after a car he was driving Sunday morning left the roadway, struck several trees then rolled over along Algonquin Road in Lake in the Hills.

Lake in the Hills police said officers were called to the intersection of Algonquin Road and Lake Drive at 6:34 a.m. in response to a 911 call about a single-vehicle rollover accident.

According to police, Joaquin Trujillo was driving a 2010 Infiniti sedan eastbound on Algonquin when it veered off the road, hit trees and fencing, then traveled over an embankment before rolling on to its roof.

Trujillo was transported by Flight for Life to Advocate Condell Hospital in Libertyville, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

The accident remains under investigation, police said.
