Odd-shaped room poses problems

We have lived in our home for nine years and still the walls are bare. It's an odd shaped room and we are not sure what to do with it, so we leave it.

All our furniture in there are hand-me-downs. We need professional help. I don't want to go another eight years plus looking at our main room like this.

Here we create a festive atmosphere and update the room for holiday entertaining by using decorations that have a modern feel and a classic Christmas color combination of silver and white with the addition of a cool "pop" of indigo blue, one of the latest color trends.

A realistic Treetime 7½-foot Wexford spruce tree can be placed next to the plaid chair. The tree will be decorated with ornaments and picks selected form our "urban living" vignette. We would add a simple table arrangement with a few key elements that include a contemporary circular candle holder, star candle holder, ornaments, star ornaments and a wooden cut-out tree on a hammered silver tray.

To add drama, place matching pre-lit garlands over each of the bookcases and decorate with trim and ribbon from the color scheme.
