Back, shoulder health clinic to be offered Dec. 5

On Saturday, Dec. 5, LGN Performance will present a seminar on causes and prevention of back and shoulder injuries from 1 to 3 p.m. at Fusion Fitness MMA, 782 S. McLean Blvd in Elgin.

"According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, these injuries account for more than 20 percent of workplace injuries and illnesses and, on average, 8 days of missed work," stated Chris Marella, creator and co-trainer for the event. He added, "There is substantial potential to minimize these injuries with proper education." Both Marella and Curt Hanson, owner of LGN, are certified personal trainers through the NSCA.

LGN Performance has a long-standing relationship with the martial artists at both Kyuki-Do Martial Arts and Fusion Fitness MMA.

Curt Hansen added "When we realized the need for this education, sharing the information with all three organizations seemed like a natural fit."

This event is open to the public and a nominal charge of $35 includes participant equipment. For additional information or to register, call (847) 289-000 or (224) 325-5585.
