Eighteen charming cottages will open their doors this coming weekend to a Scandinavian Christmas, brimming with Swedish crafts, food, folklore and fun at Good Templar Park, 628 Eastside Drive, north of Route 38 on Geneva's east side.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, talented crafters share their crafts of Dala horse carving, rosemaling, dalamaling, wood lace carving, knitting, pottery and more.

Hot lunch will be available at the Ligonberry Cafe, including Swedish meatballs, Swedie Dogs, yellow split pea soup and kids meals.

Don't miss Swedie Pies Bakery for some yummy Swedish baked goods. Costumed Lucia and Tomte (the Swedish Santa ), as well as Princesses Elsa and Anna from Disney's "Frozen" movie, will welcome you.

Kids can write a letter to Tomte and put in the mailbox. Kids crafts will keep them busy in the Dala's Deals cottage filled with thrift bargains!

Illinois Norsk Rosemalers will host their Jul Market in the log cabin closest to the entrance to the park. Enjoy strolling our wooded grounds and the delightful sights, sounds, tastes and folkore of a Scandinavian Christmas.

It is a great family outing or fun for a girlfriend gathering!
