Oakton workshop on how undocumented can attend college

About 65,000 undocumented students graduate from U.S. high schools annually and that only about 10 percent go on to college. Find out what Oakton Community College and other organizations are doing to advocate and support undocumented students and their families from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, in Des Plaines, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, in Skokie.

Oakton Community College Chief Diversity Officer Michael D. Anthony and Recruitment and Outreach Specialist Andriana Esparza will facilitate the workshop along with Cindy Murillo from the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights Monday at 1600 E. Golf Road (Room 1603) and Tuesday at 7701 N. Lincoln Ave. (Room C111).

The workshop will provide information for undocumented students and their families about: the admissions and financial aid processes, on- and off-campus resources, and student success data, among other topics.
