SMART Recovery support group now offered in 2 locations

The Renz Center offers a self-empowerment support program.

SMART Recovery is an anonymous self-management support program that is open to individuals coping with all types of addictive behaviors.

This free program meets Mondays at the Hanover Township Resource Center, 1535 Burgundy Parkway in Streamwood, and Thursdays at Renz Center's Two American Way facility in Elgin.

Both support groups meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

An alternative to Alcoholics Anonymous, SMART Recovery emphasizes building and maintaining motivation; coping with urges; managing thoughts, feelings and behaviors; and, living a balanced life.

SMART Recovery is facilitated by a Renz Addiction Counseling Center counselor.

It is open to all individuals 18 years of age or older. Registration is not necessary; walk-ins welcome.

For more information, contact Renz Center at (847) 742-3545 or visit www.renzcenter.org.
