Lake Zurich cops prevent overdose death

Lake Zurich police announced officers have saved a third life this year by using a heroin overdose reversal drug through a program established by the Lake County Opioid Initiative, officials said in a news release. On Sunday, Nov. 8, Lake Zurich police Sgt, Andy Sieber and Officer Randy Witt responded to a call in the 1200 block of Pheasant Ridge of a 21-year-old woman who had overdosed and wasn't breathing. The officers used a dose of Naloxone and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation in successful efforts to revive the woman. Paramedics took her to Good Advocate Shepherd Hospital. "I am very proud that Sgt. Sieber and Officer Witt were ready, willing and able to save this young woman's life," Lake Zurich Police Chief Steven Husak said.
