'10,000 for the Troops' at District 300's Liberty Elementary School

Emilee Gajewski's first-grade class at Liberty Elementary in Carpentersville is participating in the "10,000 for the Troops" campaign being put on by Lisa Dent and Ramblin' Ray from US 99.5 radio station.

The morning radio duo's goal is to collect 10,000 letters to send to the troops during the upcoming holiday season.

Gajewski put out this goal to the Carpentersville elementary school and it has spread to several other schools in the district as well as to the Community Unit District 300 superintendent, Fred Heid.

The class has so far written 113 cards and letters to the troops. The letters are being picked up by a staff member at US99 this week.
