Sheriff's office collecting toys for kids

The Lake County sheriff's pffice is partnering with the Marine Corps and several local law enforcement agencies to collect gifts for Toys for Tots. Now through Monday, Dec. 21, new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at two locations: the Lake County sheriff's offices at 25 S. Martin Luther King Jr Ave., Waukegan, and at 1301 N Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville. Toys for Tots accepts toys that are suitable for children through the age of 16. Toys for Tots prefers not to accept realistic-looking weapons or gifts of food, sheriff's officials said in a news release. "You're invited to join us in giving toys to needy children throughout Lake County, Sheriff Mark Curran said.
