Cubs loss will mean higher ticket prices

If there was a ever a doubt the stars were aligned for the Cubs to not only go to the big dance but actually win the World Series consider the following: they were the hottest team in baseball playing a team they spanked seven times during the regular season, had a better record 97 wins vs 70, pitching rotation in order, well rested, while the Mets had to travel cross country from California, a team with a $116 million payroll against the young N.Y. pitching staff and were Vegas favorites to win the World Series.

The result? The biggest bust in franchise history - no Cubs team was ever swept in a seven-game series, completely outplayed in every facet of the game and never led in the four game series.

So after finishing third in the Division ticket holders can probably expect an increase next year even though ticket prices for Cubs games are already among the highest in all of baseball. Whatever the traffic will bear one fan observed. Go figure!
