Liotine's career day leads Stony Brook past Howard, 14-9

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) - Donald Liotine had 204 yards rushing with two touchdowns on 38 carries - all career highs - and the Stony Brook defense recorded 12 sacks, the most in a Division I game this season, to help the Seawolves snap a five-game skid and beat Howard 14-9 Saturday.

Ousmane Camara and Victor Ochi had three sacks apiece as Stony Brook (3-5) limited Howard to minus-42 yards rushing - also a Div. I single-game best in 2015. Ochi's 29 career sacks ties the school record.

Liotine's second touchdown, a 5-yard run, gave the Seawolves a 14-3 lead going into the fourth quarter.

The Bison (1-8), who had just 52 total yards in the first three quarters, trimmed their deficit to 14-9 when Kalen Johnson's 18-yard touchdown pass to Guy Lemonier capped an 8-play, 65-yard drive with 4:55 remaining. Howard's 2-point conversion attempt failed.

Liotine then ripped off a 45-yard run, on third-and-7, to seal it.
