Lindenhurst Area Soccer Club's U9 Girls win tourney

The Lindenhurst Area Soccer Club's U9 Girls Premier team participated and won their age bracket in their first competitive soccer tournament at the Chicago Shootout in Naperville recently.

While playing the Heat United, LASC tallied a goal in the final minute to advance to the championship game. In the championship, they faced the Oswego Panthers, who were undefeated in pool play. In a close match against the Panthers, LASC held on for a hard fought 2-1 win. By participating in the highest division for their age, the girls reigned supreme amongst all U9 teams in Naperville.

The girls participating in the tournament were: Hannah Rojas, Raina Schmitt, Angela Coe, Reese Harrison, Gracie Quirke, Alyssa Garcia, Isabel Ceaser, Abby Staehle, Briana Pagac, Michela Hopkins and Allison Varga.

The team was recently named the Illinois Women's Soccer League's "Team of the Week."

They're are coached by Scott Harrison, along with his assistants, Todd Hopkins and David Pagac.
