Demon, Cajuns on the LSWA Player of the Week award

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A Northwestern State running back and a couple of Louisiana-Lafayette linebackers have earned Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week honors.

Northwestern State's De'Mard Llorens tied a school record with four touchdown runs in a 37-21 win over Nicholls State that earned the junior running back the offense player of the week honors.

While the voters chose two linebackers for the Cajuns, both had different stats that earned them the honor in the come-from-behind 30-24 win over Louisiana-Monroe. Dominique Tovell earned defensive honors with 12 tackles and two sacks, while Chaiziere Malbrue blocked a Chris Qualls punt that would lead to a UL-Lafayette touchdown for special team honors.
