Highland Park chiropractor pleads guilty to sexually abusing client

A Highland Park chiropractor pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a client during a session in 2014, authorities said Tuesday.

Kevin G. Dutton, 39, of Chicago pleaded guilty in front of Judge Daniel Shanes to one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse for inappropriately touching a patient.

He faces up to seven years in prison when he is sentenced Dec. 17. The charge is also probationable, Shanes said.

Defense attorney Stephen McCullom did not comment on the case after the plea deal was accepted.

Highland Park Police officials said a 22-year-old Lake Forest woman complained Dutton touched her inappropriately during a chiropractic treatment at the Wellness Circle on the 800 block of Central Avenue.

Dutton worked at the fitness center as an independent contractor at the time of the attack, officials said. He turned himself in to police after an arrest warrant was issued.

Dutton remains free from custody after posting the required 10 percent of his $100,000 bail. He is ordered to not have any contact with the victim as part of his bail agreement.

Charges of criminal sexual assault were dropped as part of the plea agreement.
