Palatine Township offers Angel Tree program

Angel Trees now fill up the Palatine Township Center lobby and are providing a way for residents to make the holidays a little brighter for in-need children and senior citizens.

Residents are invited to select an Angel from one of the trees in the lobby and sign it out at the front desk. Gifts valued between $25 and $35 are asked to be purchased. Perishable items cannot be accepted.

Gifts should be wrapped and securely fastened to the Angel ornament. For more than one gift, they should be bagged or tied together with the Angel ornament attached.

"Those who benefit from the Angel Tree Program might not otherwise receive gifts over the holiday season," said Sharon Langlotz, Palatine Township supervisor.

"A gift of no more than $35 can help economically challenged children and seniors know that others are thinking of them."

The gifts should be returned to Palatine Township no later than Friday, Dec. 4, and will be given to children and senior citizens identified as in-need by Palatine Township.

Palatine Township is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is at 721 S. Quentin Road in Palatine. Visit www.PalatineTownship.com for more information.
