Local Retired Teachers Association president speaks at convention

Stephen Polep, president of the McHenry County Retired Teachers Association, addressed the Illinois Retired Teachers Association at its recent convention in Springfield on Oct. 27.

Steve, a former president of IRTA, is currently the chair of the state retired teachers benefits committee.

This group works throughout the year to secure retired teachers access to dental/vision insurance, travel opportunities, and a variety of discounts.

The McHenry County Retired Teachers Association is a local unit of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association. It is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization of retired teachers started in 1960.

Noon luncheon meetings are held eight times a year at different sites in McHenry County. Meetings are informational and a great time to socialize. Visit www.mcrta.org.
