Bartlett seeks public input on future of its downtown

Bartlett leaders are seeking public input at a community forum entitled "Future Downtown Bartlett - How Do You Envision It?," taking place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Bartlett Hills Golf Club, 800 W. Oneida Ave.

The village has been selected to receive a technical assistance grant from the Regional Transportation Authority to create a downtown transit-oriented development plan. A steering committee of local business owners, residents, elected village officials and staff, along with representatives from the RTA and Metra, has been formed to help design the plan over the next several months.

The forum Wednesday is the first in a series of input sessions being planned. Using both whole-group discussion and smaller focus circles, many topics will be addressed, including business attraction and economic development, transportation, train station access, parking, pedestrian and bike access, and zoning and development opportunities.

For more information, contact Tony Fradin, Bartlett economic development coordinator, at (630) 540-5940 or tfradin@vbartlett.org.
