Naperville man lost home to fire, then helps rescue family on I-57

Mike Roberson of Naperville is being credited with coming to the rescue of a family of nine after a crash on Interstate 57, just days after he both lost his uncle in a freak accident and lost his townhome to fire.

Both CBS 2 Chicago and the News-Gazette of Champaign are reporting on the story.

"I could just hear screaming kids and I could see hands out the back window, and then I saw the mother's face. She was hanging upside down," Roberson told CBS 2.

"After the storm calms, I just want to sleep for about a week," Roberson told the News-Gazette. The paper reported that his efforts saved six of nine occupants of the Willowbrook family's van; one van passenger died.
