Roadwork coming at Route 22 and Old Barrington Road

Lanes on either side of the intersection of Route 22 and Old Barrington Road in North Barrington will be reduced and may include daily lane closures, beginning Monday, Nov. 2, weather permitting. The reductions and lane closures initially will be required to build temporary pavement on the east and west sides of Old Barrington Road to accommodate the future construction of a new left-turn lane on Route 22, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. Once that work is complete, construction will continue, weather permitting, in late November on the north and south sides of Route 22. The speed limit will be reduced to 40 mph through the work zone. When complete next July, new traffic signals also will be included.
