See pumpkins fly at annual Mundelein event
The public is invited to bring their pumpkins to the sled hill at Keith Mione Community Park, 1401 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein, to watch them soar, roll and compost from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1. The gourds will be launched by the popular Big Red trebuchet catapult designed and built by Mundelein High School students. Twenty pumpkins will be launched and the distance measured with the winner receiving a special prize. Preregistration is encouraged and only pumpkins from participants will be accepted.
